What happens to Dan Moore at the end of Watching You?
In the final episode, Dan (Josh Helman), whose real name is actually Andrew Wilson, is provoked by Lina through his hidden camera setup at the Nestshare. He sets out to find her, and walks right into Lina’s trap in the process.
Lina, who had pocketed some fentanyl earlier in the series, uses the drug to kill Dan in a final confrontation. Before she injects the final dose into his chest, she tells him how she was never pregnant with his baby, and lied to him to keep him around. She stabs him in the heart with the fentanyl after this admission, and watches as he dies.
In the final sequence months later, detective Brennan (Sara Wiseman) is seen speaking with Lina, asking her why she hasn’t been answering her calls. Lina says she’s moved on from the ordeal and hasn’t received any threats – with Brennan unaware Dan has been killed.
Brennan asks if Nina still has nightmares about the basement Dan locked her in, but Lina explains how she’s renovating the house to bury all the memories attached to it. With the basement no longer there, Lina says she’s “sleeping like a baby”.
The lingering question is what did Lina do with Dan’s body? While it’s never explicitly revealed, in the final scene, Lina is drinking a martini with extra olives (the same drink she asked Dan to make when they first met), when the camera zooms in on the concrete floor as she lowers her glass. The implication being is he’s buried somewhere underneath.
How did Axel die?
Lina discovers, through Dan’s deleted camera footage, that Axel didn’t slip and fall off the rocks while out on his morning run. Axel was actually killed by Dan, after he discovered his voyeuristic secret. Luckily, as this was all recorded, Lina delivers the footage to police and clears Cain’s (Chai Hansen) name. Cain has been released from prison, but Lina’s efforts aren’t enough to save their relationship, with them going their separate ways.
