The track was first debuted last week (July 5) during their first ‘Deadline’ world tour stop – their first concert in nearly two years.
It came after the group previously confirmed that they would be playing a new number for fans at the South Korean kick-off. According to fans in the arena, Jennie reportedly confirmed that the song would officially be released via streaming platforms the following week.
Now, ‘Jump’ has arrived, produced by Diplo, 24, Boaz Van De Beatz, Zecca, and Ape Drums. It sees the K-pop icons venture into the electronic subgenre of Hardstyle and, per a press release, deliver “an intense, addictive energy that instantly gets pulses racing”.
The high-octane track comes alongside a music video directed by Dave Meyers, which sees a city entranced by the power of BLACKPINK. Check it out below.
The ‘Deadline’ tour will continue with a string of North American dates throughout the rest of the month.
August will see BLACKPINK tour Europe and the UK, including two shows at the Wembley Stadium. The tour resumes in Asia throughout October and December, including stops in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and Hong Kong.
The stadium shows from BLACKPINK mark their first headline tour since their record-breaking ‘Born Pink World Tour’, which ran between 2022 and 2023. Those shows also saw the group reach new heights as it was soon certified as the highest-grossing tour by a girl group – drawing over 1.8million fans.
Since BLACKPINK’s last album – 2022’s ‘Born Pink’ – all four members have explored solo careers, including albums by Jennie, Rosé, Lisa and Jisoo. Additionally, Lisa made her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus season three.
