Coronavirus: every cancelled gig, festival and tour – and how to get your ticket refund

In the wake of the cancellation of SXSW and postponement of Coachella, an increasing number of artists are exercising caution to contain the spread of coronavirus by cancelling or delaying gigs.

When it comes to getting your money back for shows that have been cancelled or postponed, Citizen’s Advice Bureau state that if the ticket was bought from an official ticket seller and not a secondary site “you can get a refund if the organiser cancels, moves or reschedules the event.”

It is likely that you’ll only get the face value of the ticket back however and not any booking fees or postage costs. Contact your ticket seller for full details of how to get a refund.

Here’s a definitive list of all the artists that have pulled imminent shows because of COVID-19.

GIGS AND TOURS

System of a Down, Korn and Faith No More

The three acts were set to play anticipated joint shows in LA in May.

Now, they’ve announced that the same concerts will take place on May 21 and May 22, 2021 at Banc of California Stadium.

Deftones

Deftones have postponed their US summer tour, scheduled for July 2020, “due to current regulations, and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19”. The tour will be rescheduled for 2021.

This news comes months after Deftones had to call off their tour of Australia and New Zealand following the cancellation of Download Australia, after My Chemical Romance dropped out of the festival.

“We understand the growing global situation and concern, and support whatever decisions need to be made, but we are committed to rescheduling our shows for later in the year,” they said in a statement in March.

Jimmy Eat World

On May 18, Jimmy Eat World announced a rescheduled run of UK and European tour dates, set to take place in 2021.

The band have announced a new run of shows, set to take place next year, starting in Luxembourg on June 18, 2021 and ending in Amsterdam on a date still to be confirmed.

Billie Eilish

Eilish has postponed her remaining ‘Where Do We Go?’ tour dates scheduled for 2020. She was due to return to the UK for a string of arena shows in July.

New Order and Pet Shop Boys

The iconic groups were set to head out on the road in the US for a co-headline tour in September. On May 13, it was confirmed that the gigs would no longer take place this year. New 2021 dates will be announced “shortly”.

Slipknot

Slipknot have cancelled their entire summer 2020 tour, including their first-ever Knotfest UK event.

Rammstein

Rammstein have cancelled their UK and European tour dates for summer 2020. The band have told fans they are looking into the possibility of rescheduling the shows, which were due to begin on May 25, and all tickets will remain valid at this time.

Yaeji 

Yaeji has postponed her ‘What We Drew 우리가 그령왔던’ tour until 2021. “Due to the present concern and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, all of my headline tour dates this year have been postponed,” she told fans on Twitter. “We will share dates for early 2021 soon.”

Kesha has confirmed that her 2020 ‘High Road’ tour has been cancelled, saying she is “unable to move ahead with rescheduling” the dates. “This is heartbreaking, but the safety of my fans & crew is my number 1 priority,” she wrote on Instagram. Refunds can be obtained at the point of purchase.

Rage Against The Machine

After postponing their North American headline dates until May 20, Rage Against The Machine have now confirmed their entire 2020 reunion tour will be rescheduled for 2021. The band have also confirmed any fans wanting refunds “in this difficult time” will be granted one from their point of purchase. Run The Jewels will remain as support on the new dates.

Tame Impala

On April 28, Tame Impala officially announced their US tour – which was due to run from May 29 to August 7 – will be postponed. Rescheduled dates will be announced soon, and all previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new shows.

 

DMA’S

DMA’S have confirmed their May tour of the UK will be postponed to October, announcing new dates on April 24. The tour is in support of their upcoming album, ‘The Glow’. The list of updated dates includes the Southampton, Norwich, Hull, Newcastle and London shows. No news is available just yet for their Dublin shows or their July show at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl.

Bright Eyes

Bright Eyes have confirmed changes to their first run of reunion dates in the US, with most shows cancelled outright. Three shows in Worcester, MA, Bethlehem, PA, and Queens, NY have been rescheduled with a further two in Portland, ME and New Haven, CT postponed.

And on May 22, they announced their rescheduled UK and European 2020 tour dates for the following year. The new 2021 dates include a slot at End of the Road Festival.

Taylor Swift 

Swift has cancelled all her scheduled appearances for 2020, but will reschedule dates in the US and Brazil for 2021.

Kasabian

The band have cancelled their huge homecoming show in Leicester as the coronavirus pandemic continues. The group were meant to headline Victoria Park on June 20, with support from Sam Fender, Easy Life and Inhaler. Fans have been told to keep an eye out from the ticket agent they purchased passes from for refund details.

The Killers

Drummer Ronnie Vannuci Jr. confirmed during an Instagram livestream that The Killers’ planned run of summer UK stadium shows will no longer be taking place as planned. Rescheduled dates are promised but yet to be confirmed, while the fate of US shows in late summer/autumn is still up in the air.

Stormzy

The grime hero was one of the first acts to postpone their shows as coronavirus took hold, with dates across Asia set to be rescheduled. Stormzy is due to tour New Zealand, Australia and North American in May and June – he is yet to announce whether those dates will go ahead as scheduled.

BTS

The Korean superstars were due to kick off their Map Of The Soul world tour with four shows in Seoul on April 11, 12, 18, and 19. Those dates have now been cancelled, while the North American leg of the tour – which was scheduled to begin in Santa Clara, CA on April 25 – has also been postponed.

Green Day

Green Day postponed their planned Asia tour, which was due to visit the likes of Singapore, Thailand, Taipei, Hong Kong, South Korea, and more in March. “We know it sucks, as we were looking forward to seeing you all, but hold on to your tickets we’ll be announcing the new dates very soon,” they announced on social media. They have also postponed five dates on their European tour but are still set to play their forthcoming UK shows including one at London Stadium on June 26. “There’s nothing that makes our bands happier than playing shows, and maybe no other tour that we’ve all been this excited for, but due to the current health crisis, we’re having to postpone a number of our European shows,” the band wrote on Twitter.

Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters were set to head out on their 25th anniversary van tour in April, but they will now postpone the shows until May.

“Hi, this is Dave. Remember me? The guy who wouldn’t even postpone a show when my goddamn leg was falling off?,” wrote frontman Dave Grohl. “Well…playing a gig with a sock full of broken bones is one thing, but playing a show when YOUR health and safety is in jeopardy is another.

The National

The National have cancelled their Japanese dates, which were due to take place in Tokyo on March 17 and 18. “We look forward to returning in the future and performing for our friends in Japan,” they wrote on Twitter, adding that refunds would be available from the point of purchase.

Slipknot

Slipknot were due to bring their Knotfest event to Tokyo for two dates between March 20 and 29 as part of their Asia tour, but have had to pull all their shows on the continent “in light of global health concerns”.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will now postpone their European tour until later this year.

Yungblud

The Doncaster rock star has cancelled his Asia tour, which was due to begin in South Korea on March 14. In a video message to fans, he promised he was “going to gettwin a out there” as soon as he could. He has also postponed his UK tour. “I’ve tried my best to try come up with an innovative way of keepin’ them on but everyone’s safety is most important. I’m sorry. There is a plan in place though, they WILL be happenin’. Hold on to your tix and imma post more info soon!” he said.

Elton John 

The rocketman has postponed a raft of US dates of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour’ until 2021. “It is with deep regret that Elton John must postpone the remainder of his upcoming North American 2020 dates on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour,” a statement said. “This tough decision has been made with the continued safety and well-being of his fans at a time when health services are under increased pressure and with the concern that these gatherings continue to risk accelerating the spread of the Coronavirus [COVID-19].”

Madonna

Madge’s injury-plagued Madame X shows were brought to a close early, with her final dates in Paris wiped out after the French government put a ban on public gatherings of more than 1000 people.

Blossoms

Blossoms have postponed the rest of their UK tour – which included three nights at London’s O2 Forum and a massive homecoming show at Manchester Arena – until August 2020.

“Hiya. Obviously we were all gutted to have to postpone the rest of our March dates,” the band said in a post on Facebook. “These shows have now been rescheduled for August. Keep hold of your tickets as they’ll remain valid for the new dates. We cant wait to see you all then.”

Pearl Jam

Grunge icons Pearl Jam have postponed their North American Gigaton tour, which was due to begin on March 18 in Toronto. The shows will be rescheduled at a later date. “As residents of the city of Seattle, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand how quickly these disastrous situations can escalate,” frontman Eddie Vedder noted in a statement.

On April 10, the band also postponed the European leg of the ‘Gigaton’ tour. The new dates are yet to be confirmed, but are being rescheduled for “June/July 2021”.

Poppy

US singer Poppy has postponed the UK and European leg of her ‘I DISAGREE’ tour. The dates were due to begin on March 12 in Manchester.

Bombay Bicycle Club

The recently reunited indie heroes have scrapped their EU tour, but have told fans they were “working on rescheduling them for later this year”.

My Chemical Romance

The band’s first reunions shows in Japan has been postponed. MCR were due to appear at Download and Dirty Honey festivals in the country at the end of March. In a statement, they said they were “working on rescheduling shows and will try to announce those soon”. The band have since also cancelled their shows in Australia and New Zealand.

Bikini Kill

The reunited riot grrrl group have postponed their upcoming shows in the US and Canada following the coronavirus outbreak. “We take the health and safety of our supporters, crew and opening bands very seriously, and given the situation in Seattle as well as the lack of information about the actual infection rate of the surrounding areas, it doesn’t make sense for us to go forward with any of the shows in the region,” they said in a statement.

Torres

After Donald Trump announced a ban on travel from Europe to the US, Torres was left having to cancel the remainder of her European tour and find the funds to get back home before the ban came in before March 13.

The Who

After serious consideration, it is with much regret that THE WHO have postponed their UK tour, due to start next Monday March 16th in Manchester at the Manchester Arena and finishing at Wembley SSE Arena on April 8th. The fans’ safety is paramount and given the developing Coronavirus situation, the band felt that they had no option but to postpone the shows. The dates will be rescheduled for later in the year. All tickets will be honoured. Singer Roger Daltrey assures fans that the shows will “definitely happen and it may be the last time we do a tour of this type, so keep those tickets, as the shows will be fantastic.” Pete Townshend said the band, ”haven’t reached this decision easily, but given the concerns about public gatherings, we couldn’t go ahead.” He added that “if one fan caught Coronavirus at a WHO concert it would be one too many.” Unfortunately, THE WHO will also be unable to appear at the Royal Albert Hall on March 28th as part of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust shows, but intend to reschedule that show also, with more news to follow. The legendary rock band have postponed their UK tour, which was due to begin on March 16 in Manchester and included a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.

Craig David

Craig David has rescheduled his ‘Hold That Thought’ UK arena tour to April 2021. The R&B star, whose debut album ‘Born To Do It’ turns 20 this year, shared the news on social media.

Avril Lavigne

Lavigne has cancelled her Europe and and UK tour, scheduled for March and April following the US government’s travel ban. “My main concern continues to be your health and safety and I want to come back and rock out with you at another time when everyone can enjoy the shows without worry,” she wrote on Instagram.

All Live Nation-promoted tours

Promoters Live Nation are reportedly set to postpone all tours they are working on in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. These include shows by the likes of Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Tool and will affect Live Nation’s shows in the US and internationally. The ban reportedly applies to the remainder of March, with the decision set to be reviewed at the start of April.

Disclosure

The Lawrence brothers were set to embark on a DJ tour of the UK, Europe, and the US, kicking off in London on March 13. They’ve now cancelled those dates, promising to “reschedule all of these club sets when we can play them properly”.

Pixies

The alt-rock legends were in the middle of an Australian tour but have now pulled their remaining shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth. “This was an extremely difficult decision but the well-being of our fans is always our top priority,” they said in a statement.

They Might Be Giants

 

The US group were due to kick off a series of east coast US gigs on March 13, but have announced the dates will now take place in September and December. Gigs at the end of April and May remain as scheduled at present.

Driving to Cleveland I had a bunch of calls w my booking agent and my family, and it looks like the tour is cancelled and we have to return home to nyc— We’re now on the road in the middle of a pandemic, and one of the things that’s going to help us get through this is to stop gathering in crowds. The former Moldy Peaches musician has been forced to cancel his US dates, three shows into the tour. “We wish we could keep going, but coronavirus has left us with no choice but to do what feels right,” he wrote on Instagram.

Carlos Santana

The UK and European leg of Santana’s Miraculous 2020 World Tour has been cancelled, with the president of his management company saying they “deeply regret this unfortunate circumstance”. The musician’s North American tour is currently set to begin in June.

Underworld

The ‘Born Slippy’ duo have postponed their shows in Norway and Denmark and are “working with promoters to reschedule the dates at the earliest safe opportunity”. There’s no word at present whether their first North American shows since 2015 will go ahead as planned in May.

Iggy Pop

The punk legend was booked to perform in France but is now rescheduling most of the dates. Ticketholders for gigs in Montpellier and Besançon will be refunded.

Action Bronson

The rapper has rescheduled his North American tour, but has promised that “everything will be rescheduled for when things normalise”. “I’ll be training for when that day comes and when it does you’re going to see the best version of Bronson ever,” he said on Twitter.

Chelsea Wolfe

The singer-songwriter’s European dates have also been hit by the new travel restrictions between the continent and the US. “We stuck it out until became unviable to keep pushing the tour forward,” she told her Instagram followers.

Jay Som

The LA musician has confirmed her European tour has been postponed after the new travel ba was imposed by Trump. “Tickets will be refunded at point of sale and I hope to return later this year,” she said in a statement.

Maluma

The Colombian musician and Madonna collaborator has cancelled the remaining dates on the European leg of his 11:11 World Tour 2020. “I am sad, but I will see you all soon and I hope that you understand as I do it for the safety of you all,” he told fans.

TNGHT

The duo comprised of Hudson Mohawke and Lunice have rescheduled their upcoming dates until July. “‘Will they ever play live?’ ‘Is Kanye their scorpion king?’ Find out this summer!” they wrote on Twitter.

Creeper

British punks Creeper have postponed their UK tour until August 2020.

“Due to the escalating Coronavirus Pandemic we have rescheduled the tour for August. As you know our primary concern has and will always be the safety of our community. All tickets for April will be valid for the new dates. If you’re unable to attend you’ll be able to get a refund at your point of purchase. Be safe, look after each other and we’ll see you in August.”

Wilco

The Jeff Tweedy-fronted band have postponed their March and April dates in Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, Las Vegas, and California.

Blood Orange

The Russian punk outfit were scheduled to begin their latest North American tour on March 12, but announced on the day the dates would be rescheduled.

K-pop group ATEEZ’s planned European tour, including a stop at London’s SSE Wembley Arena, has been pulled after promoters MyMusicTaste “researched and exhausted all options and preventative measures”. The dates are set to be rescheduled soon.

Seventeen

Pledis Entertainment’s Seventeen have cancelled their ‘Ode To You’ world tour due to the coronavirus outbreak. The tour began with the North American leg in January but the subsequent dates in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, and Europe were axed soon after cases of the disease began to rise.

MACHINE HEAD TO POSTPONE EUROPEAN TOUR. It is with heavy heart that we must announce the postponement of our upcoming EU/UK tour in support of the 25th anniversary of Burn My Eyes. As residents of the Bay Area, we’ve been hit hard and have witnessed firsthand what has been going on. Public gatherings of more than 1000 have been banned in San Jose, and events in downtown San Francisco including major concerts and conferences have been shut down. We have been watching the situation overseas on a daily basis, in contact with all promoters, and local governments for the status of our concerts there. As of a week ago, we had 6 concert cancelled until the 2nd week of April, due the banning of public gathering over 1,000 people (or in some cases 100 people). Even at that point, we still held out hope that things would be contained, and that the public gathering ordinances would be lifted by the time our tour started. As of today, we now have 14 shows cancelled until the first week of April, with 7 of them cancelled indefinitely. And it appears as of an hour ago, another 3 have been cancelled. Of paramount importance to us is the heath and safety of the Head Cases. We’ve worked hard with all our management, booking agents, and business associates to find other solutions or options, but the levels of risk to our audience and their communities is simply too high for our comfort level. In addition to that, we also have a unique group of extraordinarily passionate fans who travel from all over the continent to watch our shows. We are eternally humbled by the dedication and devotion of the Head Cases, however in this case, travel is something not recommended. So it is with deep frustration and regret that we are forced to make this announcements. The Burn My Eyes 25th anniversary tour is to be postponed and shows rescheduled for a later date, hopefully in the Fall, but possibly later. Machine Head were due to bring their ‘Burn My Eyes’ 25th anniversary tour to the UK and Europe in March, but postponed the tour til “a later date, hopefully in the fall but possibly later” after having several shows cancelled before they made the decision.

Rapper Smino has confirmed his European tour has been postponed because of the crisis. “We still will honour the ticket later this year for the tour,” he told those who had already purchased tickets for the dates.

The Swedish pop star has been forced to postpone her European tour and cancel her Cologne date completely. “I have been looking forward to these shows for so long, but it has become unsafe and impossible for all of us to continue as planned,” she told her Twitter followers.

Bernard Sumner and co were quick to respond to the coronavirus outbreak, putting their Japanese shows “on hold”. “We would also hate to risk our fans’ health or the risk of spreading the virus on our return,” they said on Instagram. “We promise we will be back as soon as we can.”

Liverpool Sound City

Originally due to take place in May 1-3, Liverpool sound City organisers have now decided to postpone the event until September.

“This was a difficult decision for us to make, but we will be postponing Sound City 2020 to September 25th, 26th & 27th,” a post on the festival’s official Instagram page read. “The health and safety of our guests, staff and community is the most important thing for us to safeguard. New York State’s X Ambassadors were due to play in China in February, but pulled out of the dates as the country’s situation got worse. “Hopefully we can come to China for a new tour as soon as we possibly can,” they wrote on Twitter. They later had to cancel European shows too.

Mariah Carey

The pop diva cancelled a scheduled performance in Hawaii at the beginning of March, rescheduling the date for November.

Wolf Parade

Canadians Wolf Parade scrapped their European and UK tour to promote new album ‘Thin Mind’, calling it “globally irresponsible and potentially risky” to continue touring.

Set It Off

Florida rockers Set It Off pulled out of a support tour with Jimmy Eat World and have cancelled their March headline tour of Asia.

Whitesnake

The hair metallers were due to tour Japan in March but has now been “unavoidably postponed” because of coronavirus. The band are planning to reschedule the dates.

Khalid

Khalid’s Asia tour has also joined the ranks of tours no longer viable because of the outbreak. The star was due to visit Singapore, Manila, Jakarta, and more.

Justin Bieber

Bieber has postponed his 45-date ‘Changes’ stadium and arena tour (as of April 1). It would have been the Canadian pop star’s first live tour in nearly three years, which was set kick off on May 14 at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field.

Part of a statement reads: “Justin is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to get back out on the road and perform in a space that is safe for everyone. He asks that fans hold on to their tickets, as they will be honoured as soon as the dates are rescheduled. Information on rescheduled dates will be forthcoming soon.”

Ciara was scheduled to perform at the re-opening of the Fort Hood USO in Texas on March 19 but the event has now been postponed to later this year.

Zac Brown Band

Atlanta country rock group Zac Brown Band have axed their spring tour, saying it was “an extremely difficult decision, but the well-being of our fans is always our top priority”.

Liam Gallagher

As well as being a headliner at the now-cancelled Snowbombing Festival, Liam has also seen his shows in Abu Dhabi face the chop.

Yes

After headlining Cruise On The Edge for seven years, Yes will not headline the event in 2020. The date is including a handful of cancelled shows from the prog-rock group.

The Format

The Arizonan band were due to reunite in New York, Chicago, and Phoenix in March, but have been forced to move the shows to July in a bid to keep fans safe.

Kiss and David Lee Roth

Kiss and David Lee Roth are just coming to the end of their joint tour, but fans due to attend the final three shows of the run will have to wait a little longer to see them. Shows in Tulsa, Biloxi, and Lafayette will now take place in October.

Cher

“I’m heartbroken, but the health of my fans and my touring family comes first,” Cher said in a statement after her ‘Here We Go Again’ tour was pushed back to autumn.

Circa Survive

Circa Survive told their fans they were “crushed” to share the news the first leg of their Blue Sky Noise tour was cancelled. Currently the second leg, due to begin on May 9, is “still on the books” but the band are “closely monitoring the situation”.

The country star’s All-American Road Show was due to begin on March 12, but is now in the process of being rescheduled.

Dan + Shay

Grammy-winning country duo Dan + Shay have postponed their arena tour midway through, saying they “want the shows to be memorable and not experienced with fear”. The new dates will begin in July.

After revealing that they were “taking a day-to-day approach” to their upcoming North American tour, Tool have now “made the difficult decision to postpone the remainder of our previously announced Spring 2020 performances”.

The Strokes

New York’s finest were scheduled to perform at LA’s The Forum on March 14 but, as the band announced on Instagram, the show will now take place on May 29.

Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish’s New York shows were already cancelled out by the state’s decision to ban gatherings of over 500 people, and hours later the pop star confirmed all of her dates in March would be postponed.

On March 16, Eilish announced that all of her remaining tour dates were being rescheduled. “Following last week’s announcement and in light of the ongoing CDC restrictions and guidelines, all of Billie’s remaining ‘WHERE DO WE GO’ North American tour dates are actively being rescheduled & will be announced soon,” a statement said.

Bad Religion and Alkaline Trio

The two punk groups were set to tour together this spring but have now postponed their joint trek. “There is no place we would rather be than playing shows, however, it is reasonable to believe that large gatherings contribute to the spread of the virus,” they explained to fans.

Grouplove

The US group had planned to hit the road in support of their new album ‘Healer’, out March 13, but have now cancelled their plans. “We will do everything we can to reschedule these dates and are excited to see you on the road soon,” they said.

Mount Eerie

Phil Elverum has confirmed Mount Eerie’s April tour has been cancelled because of the pandemic. Elverum is trying to reschedule the tour for autumn and told fans to “stay sane and alone”.

Stray Kids

The Korean boy band have cancelled their planned European leg of their ‘District 9: Unlock’ world tour. Shows in Japan have also been cancelled, while dates in Manila and Singapore are postponed.

Parkway Drive

Parkway Drive have postponed their UK and European tour until later in the year. The tour was originally scheduled to start April 1 in Hamburg, Germany at Sporthalle Hamburg, but the band have now decided to postpone the tour until November and December.

“Due to the Coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic we are postponing the Viva The Underdogs European Revolution until Nov /Dec 2020,” the Byron Bay metalcore dons said in a statement. “Health is the most valuable thing in life and we need to ensure that the wellbeing of everyone is not at stake at any of our shows.”

Glass Animals

Glass Animals are currently on the road in the US and have confirmed that their San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland shows on March 12, 14, and 15 have been cancelled.

Everglow

K-pop girl group Everglow have had their LA show at the Fonda cancelled. Their show at Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall will go ahead on March 13, but attendees will be required to apply hand sanitiser before entering the venue and are encouraged to wear face masks.

Papa Roach

Papa Roach have confirmed that their shows in Paris, Tilburg, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Copenhagen have been cancelled by local authorities. “We are working with our team to reschedule these cities, but at the moment, nothing can be confirmed as the information is changing daily,” they told fans.

Pentatonix

Texan a capella group Pentatonix have postponed their UK and Europe tour, with new dates in the works. Currently, their Californian dates in July are unaffected.

Mabel

Mabel’s Milan show in February as cases in the country rose. “So sad to have to write this, but safety is the absolute priority here!” she told fans when breaking the news.

Foals

Foals were due to visit Japan in March, but decided to postpone the dates until later in the year after the coronavirus crisis reached the country.

Sam Fender

Sam Fender’s Zurich show was postponed after the Swiss government-imposed ban on gatherings of over 1000 people. The gig will now take place in September.

In March, Fender announced the postponement of his entire UK tour, including two major shows at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Tickets sold at point of purchase can be used for rescheduled dates. These dates are being emailed to fans after confirmation.

G(I)-DLE

The K-pop group’s first world tour was scheduled to begin in March, with shows planned in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. It and the girl group’s new album have now been postponed “due to unforeseen circumstances around the globe”.

With the postponement of both Lollapalooza and Coachella, we have considered all options to perform our own shows in these cities & still reach our fans, but with local advisories & restrictions in response to COVID-19, it is just not possible. Bans on some international travel have made it impossible for some members of our band & crew to travel to these countries. “We hate having to write this,” Easy Life said on Instagram, announcing that their first European tour as a band is being postponed. They’re still set to play forthcoming shows in Edinburgh (Liquid Room, March 24) and London (Roundhouse, March 26) though.

Code Orange

Pittsburgh hardcore band Code Orange have revealed that they’re unable to perform their hometown show this weekend (March 14) as usual.

“In the wake of the chaos that is consuming our world,” the band write, “it brings us no joy to announce that on a day we’ve been working towards for the past two plus years, we have to relay some bad news.”

Rather than rescheduling until a later date, the band revealed they have taken matters into their own hands, and will play the show – which is set to feature new production they say they are “extremely proud of” – behind closed doors, with a live stream available on Twitch for fans to tune in.

Jonas Brothers

The reunited boy band have cancelled their upcoming Las Vegas residency after a state of emergency was declared in Nevada. The run of shows was due to take place over April 1-18 but will no longer go ahead. Refunds are available from the original point of purchase.

Mogwai 

Mogwai have cancelled their performance at Vive Latino on Sunday (March 15) “due to the current international travel risks associated with Covid-19”. The band have apologised to fans who were looking forward to seeing them at the festival, while Stuart Braithwaite has called it “disappointing though inevitable news”.

Caribou

Adding to the ever-growing list of cancellations, Caribou has postponed all his upcoming shows in North America, the UK and Europe, set for March and April. The run was set to include a London date at Brixton Academy.

Laura Marling says she’s “sure it comes as no surprise” that she’s postponing her upcoming UK and European shows, which were set to take place in May and include three nights of shows across London.

Roger Waters

The former Pink Floyd man has postponed his ‘This Is Not A Drill’ tour until 2021. “The bad news is; I’ve had to postpone my tour until next year. Bummer, but if it saves one life, it’s worth it,” he said in a statement.

Brian Fallon 

Brian Fallon has rescheduled his world tour, with the UK leg now due to kick off in January 2021, followed a series of shows across Europe. His North American tour, meanwhile, will now take place in July 2020.

Ringo Starr

The Beatle’s All Starr Band tour has been pushed back until 2021. This is very difficult for me,” Starr said in a statement. “In 30 years I think I’ve only missed two or three gigs, never mind a whole tour.  But this is how things are for all of us now, I have to stay in just like you have to stay in, and we all know it’s the peace and loving thing we do for each other.  So we have moved the Spring tour to 2021.”

Christine And The Queens

Christine And The Queens was due to appear at a film screening event alongside a “live conversation” and audience Q&A in London on March 19. Writing on Twitter, Rough Trade said “Unfortunately this event with @QueensChristine has been postponed due to travel restrictions and health concerns around Coronavirus. We are working hard to find a new date to reschedule this event and we will further update fans on this ASAP.” Christine added: “sorry guys but it’s for everyone’s safety. Sending lots of love to you all.”

Biffy Clyro

Biffy Clyro’s tour in the UK, Europe and Australia has now also been delayed “until a later date.” The band wrote: “If you have already pre-ordered, you will still be in the presale. We are still very much looking forward to the tour and while the dates and venues remain unaffected, we feel that due to the current uncertainty the time is not right to make tickets available.”

The Killers

The Killers have delayed the sale of their upcoming tour. The band wrote “the news is changing every hour around Coronavirus and ultimately, we want you, our fans, to stay focussed on prevention and remaining cautious right now.” They added that when tickets do eventually go on sale, they will donate a portion of the ticket sales to helping “people whose service industry jobs are impacted by the Coronavirus in each of our tour cities.”

Charli XCX

Charli XCX has cancelled her headline show in Mexico City. The singer said she is “looking for a new date for the Mexico City show later in the year where all current tickets will be honoured.”

Porridge Radio have cancelled their upcoming March and April UK tour dates. Posting the news to Twitter, the band said: “At the moment we are unsure what will happen next (probably as you all are) but will figure things out as we go.” Tickets for their October shows are still on sale, which can be bought here.

Noel Gallagher 

Noel Gallagher has announced that his two warm up shows at the Manchester Apollo on March 24 and 25 have been cancelled. His social media advises fans to “please keep your rickets until info on the rescheduled shows can be announced.”

The 1975

The 1975 have been forced to cancel their forthcoming outdoor show at London’s Finsbury Park, which was set for July 11. The band say they are now working at arranging a similar show for 2021, with tickets for 2020 set to be refunded.

The band have also postponed their upcoming North American tour. They said “we are in the process of scheduling the new shows” and that they will announce the rescheduled dates “as soon as possible.” They have advised fans to hold onto their tickets.

Creeper

Creeper have rescheduled their UK tour. “All tickets for April will be valid for the new dates,” the band wrote on social media. “Be safe, look after each other & we’ll see you in Aug.”

Guns N’ Roses

Guns N’ Roses have cancelled their upcoming UK and European tour, with dates in London, Glasgow and Dublin among those to be axed.
The gigs haven’t been rearranged yet, although the band suggested in their cancellation statement that they are currently in talks to secure new dates. Ticketholders for this year’s cancelled shows should refer to their point of purchase for further details.

Beck

Beck has announced the cancellation of his forthcoming UK and European tour due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We’re working to reschedule as many of these shows as soon as it is safe to do so and will keep you updated along the way,” a statement said about the future of the gigs.

New Order

New Order have moved their gig at The O2 in London to 2021 over the coronavirus crisis. Original tickets remain valid for the newly arranged show, but refunds are also available.

FESTIVALS

Cancelled or postponed

Wireless

On May 5, organisers of the Finsbury Park event confirmed that their 2020 edition would not be taking place. Wireless explained that they had “been closely monitoring” the ongoing coronavirus situation, but said it had “become clear that cancelling is unavoidable”.

Wireless Festival 2020 was due to take place July 3-5 with headliners A$AP Rocky, Skepta, and Meek Mill.

Boomtown Fair 

Organisers have confirmed Boomtown Fair will not go ahead as planned in August. The festival was scheduled to run between August 12-16, but will now return in 2021. Ticketholders “who are in a position to do so” are being asked to “hold off on requesting a refund for as long as possible to safeguard the future of the festival”.

Latitude Festival

Latitude Festival has been cancelled due to the coronavirus. The event was set to be held at Henham Park, Suffolk from Thursday, July 16 – Sunday, July 19.

Bunbury Festival has cancelled its 2020 edition over the coronavirus pandemic. The festival was scheduled to run from June 5 to 7. Ticketholders will receive full refunds within 30 to 45 days.

Governors Ball

New York City festival Governors Ball has cancelled its 2020 edition, which was due to run from June 5 to 7. Ticketholders can request a refund or transfer their tickets to the 2021 event.

Glastonbury

“We are so sorry to announce this, but we are going to have to cancel Glastonbury 2020,” Michael and Emily Eavis said in a statement, also announcing that tickets bought for this year’s will roll over to the 2021 festival.

TRNSMT

“We did not want to take this step but it is unavoidable,” the Glasgow festival’s organisers said in a statement in April 2020, while also revealing that they’re trying to make the festival’s 2021 lineup “as close to this year’s as possible”. They have since confirmed that the line-up for 2021 will be exactly the same, adding: “”Here it is… your TRNSMT 2021 line-up. We know that tens of thousands of you bought tickets for TRNSMT 2020 and were looking forward to seeing this year’s line up, so we’ve moved quickly to secure the acts confirmed for 2020, for 2021’s festival.”

All Points East

All Points East, the new London festival set over two weekends in Victoria Park, is also off. The May 22-31 festival featured a line-up that included the likes of Tame Impala, Kraftwerk, The Kooks, Iggy Pop, Johnny Marr, Massive Attack, Thom Yorke, Jehnny Beth, Caribou, Bombay Bicycle Club and many more.

Isle of Wight and Download Festivals

Both events, which were set to take place over the second weekend of June, have now been axed. Ticket-holders will be able to cancel or transfer their tickets to next year’s event.

BST Hyde Park

BST Hyde Park’s planned 2020 edition has been cancelled.

Post Malone, Little Mix, Kendrick Lamar, Pearl Jam and Taylor Swift were among the headliners for this year’s festival.

“It is with a heavy heart that we have decided not to go ahead with BST Hyde Park 2020,” organisers wrote on Twitter. You can see the full statement below.

Longitude

Ireland’s Longitude Festival has also cancelled its 2020 edition due to the coronavirus crisis.

The festival was set to run over the weekend of July 4-6 in Dublin’s Marlay Park and be headlined by Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, The Creator and A$AP Rocky.

Ultra Music Festival

The Miami bash was the first festival to be affected by coronavirus, with performances by the likes of Flume, Sofi Tukker, and Major Lazer scrapped. The festival has been postponed, with it potentially not returning until 2021.

SXSW

The annual Austin festival was pulled over concerns about coronavirus a week before it was due to start. The cancellation has left many bands and artists affected, with showcases being organised to try and help reduce the impact on acts as much as possible.

Tallinn Music Week

The international new music festival and conference was due to take place in March but has now been rescheduled to August in the hopes the coronavirus outbreak will be under control by summer.

Coachella

The double weekender desert festival was due to take place in April, but has now been moved to October. Travis Scott, Rage Against The Machine and Frank Ocean are still listed as headliners on the festival’s website.

Snowbombing

The Austrian festival was forced to cancel after the government placed a restriction on outdoor events above 500 people and indoor events above 100. Headliner Liam Gallagher said he was “gutted to have to cancel”.

C2C

Legs of the country music festival in London, Glasgow and Dublin have been postponed over the coronavirus crisis. Organisers have promised news on rescheduled dates “in the coming days”.

Melted Music Fest

The Columbus, Ohio event was due to see performances from the likes of Thee Oh Sees, Protomartyr and Twin Peaks, but has now been cancelled. Organisers are hoping to reschedule it.

Lollapalooza Argentina, Chile and Brazil

The Argentinian, Chilean and Brazilian legs of Perry Farrell’s global festival will now take place in the second half of the year, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Guns N’ Roses, Travis Scott and The Strokes will still headline, while the rest of the line-ups will be confirmed soon. The Argentinian and Chilean editions will be held between November 27-29 with the Brazilian bash to follow on December 4-6.

Tomorrowland Winter

The EDM festival was due to take over the Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski in France from March 14 to 21, with the likes of Afrojack and Steve Aoki on the bill. The festival is now cancelled with ticketholders offered refunds and discounts on tickets for future editions.

Treefort Music Fest

The five-day festival was scheduled to bring the likes of Chromatics, Japanese Breakfast, and Omar Apollo to Boise, Idaho on March 25-29, but has now been postponed to September.

Sonar

“After carefully examining all of the alternatives and closely following the official guidelines, this decision has been reached as the only possible way to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all our festivalgoers, artists and teams,” the annual electronic festival in Barcelona announced.

The festival, which was due to feature The Chemical Brothers, LCD Soundsystem‘s James Murphy and more, will return on the weekend of June 17—19, 2021.

Big Ears Festival

The line-up for the Tennessee event boasted artists including Kim Gordon, Thundercat, and Damo Suzuki, but will not go ahead in 2020. Ticketholders can get a full refund or turn their purchase into a tax-deductible donation.

Stagecoach

Coachella’s sister festival was meant to bring some of the biggest names in country music to Indio, California at the end of April. Like Coachella, though, it has now been rescheduled to October.

Days Of Summer Cruise Fest

Setting sail from Miami on June 28 and travelling on to the Bahamas, this cruise festival would have seen stars like Post Malone, Lil Nas X and Cardi B taking to the seas. The next chance to step on board the festival boat will come in July 2021.

Download Australia

Following My Chemical Romance cancelling their headline set at Download Australia, festival organisers released a statement confirming the whole festival is off. “Given that this announcement has come barely 7 days prior to Download Australia, we will not be able to secure an alternative headliner,” they wrote.

Radio 1’s Big Weekend

Radio 1 have announced that, after “careful consideration”, their 2020 edition, set to be held in Dundee in May, is cancelled.

Harry Styles, Dua Lipa and Biffy Clyro were among the acts set to play the event, due to be held at Dundee’s Camperdown Park from Friday 22 – Sunday 24 May.

J. Cole’s Dreamville

The event has now been cancelled after an initial postponement. Originally scheduled for April 4 in Raleigh, North Carolina, it was initially moved to August 29. Unfortunately, organisers have now cancelled the event.

“After much deliberation and careful monitoring of the current situation, we have decided to cancel Dreamville Festival 2020. Although we originally hoped it would be possible to bring you the festival this August, the ongoing uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 pandemic has made this timeline no longer possible.

“This decision has been extremely difficult to make, but the safety of our fans, artists, and staff is always our top priority, and nothing will ever take precedence over your well-being.”

Something In The Water 

The Pharrell Williams-run Something In The Water festival in Virgina Beach will no longer go ahead on April 24-26. Missy Elliot, Janelle Monáe, Migos and Travis Scott were all scheduled to play. Tickets will be honoured for next year’s festival. “Please use this time to keep building, creating and progressing,” Williams told fans.

The Great Escape

“We’ve not taken this decision lightly,” the new music weekender in Brighton said, cancelling their 2020 edition and announcing dates for next year. “Taking into account that we are only a few weeks out from the event, and the current status of things, this was the best decision for fans, artists, staff and the community.”

Slam Dunk

Announcing that their festival – held over two legs Leeds and Hertfordshire – will be moving to early September in a statement, Slam Dunk said: Since the pandemic broke out, we had been working tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver the festival you all know and love, whilst keeping your health and safety at the forefront of our operations – it became very apparent that could not be achieved in the current climate.”

Live At Leeds

“The health and safety of our audience, artists, staff and crew is our priority, and given these extraordinary circumstances, it has become clear to us that the safe and sensible decision is to reschedule the 2020 edition of Live at Leeds to take place in autumn,” the organisers of the festival said in a statement. Pale Waves will headline the new date, set for late November.

The National’s Homecoming Festival

“We made every attempt to reschedule Homecoming for 2020, however due to circumstances beyond our control, the festival will not take place this year as planned,” organisers for the band’s annual Ohio festival said in a statement.

Montreal Jazz Festival

“This decision has become necessary in order to protect the public, the artists and our employees,” organisers of the late June-early July festival wrote in a statement. It’s the first time in 40 years that the event won’t take place.

Bonnoroo Festival 

The festival in Manchester, Tennessee, has been rescheduled to September 24-27. The festival have said they will share more details soon.

Primavera Sound

Posting a statement on their website, festival organisers described the first postponement as a “once in a lifetime ‘occurrence’ in the face of this emergency.”

The original festival was meant to take place from June 3-7 in what will be Primavera’s 20th anniversary. The festival was then due to take place August 26-30 but it has since been pushed back until June 2-6, 2021.

In a statement, organisers said: “We are devastated and are terribly sorry for the inconvenience caused, but the health and well-being of our festivalgoers and all of the people involved in the festival has always been and is still our absolute priority. We cannot thank you enough for your patience, love and understanding in this uncertain scenario. We will never forget this.”

Organisers also said more details about NOS Primavera Sound Porto will follow soon.

Meltdown Festival

London festival Meltdown cancelled its 2020 event on April 6, but announced that the same line-up — including curator Grace Jones — will remain in place for their 2021 festival.

Next year’s festival is set to be held from Friday June 11 to Sunday June 20, 2021. The Southbank Centre, the festival’s venue, will contact all ticketholders in early May with information on how tickets can be transferred to the new dates next year.

Roskilde

Roskilde announced the cancellation of its 2020 event on April 6. If you have bought a ticket for the festival in 2020, you will be able to transfer it to Roskilde Festival 2021. Should you not wish to transfer, your ticket can be reimbursed.

The Mighty Hoopla

The Mighty Hoopla festival was cancelled on April 7, with organisers saying that they “exhausted” every option available to them before “having to accept the decision that was forced upon us”. Mighty Hoopla will return in 2021, though, with the new date set for June 5, 2021. Existing 2020 tickets will be honoured, while refunds are also available.

Wide Awake

Wide Awake’s inaugural festival in London will now take place in 2021 after plans to launch the event in 2020 were shelved on April 7. “As a new festival, championing independence and the incredible artists on our bill, we want to thank you for your support to date,” Wide Awake said in a statement. “For those who would like to join us next year we will carry your ticket over and we promise to deliver an unforgettable experience of leftfield indie, post punk, electronica, techno, jazz and more that you won’t find anywhere else. If however you do wish to receive a refund you will have the full face-value of your ticket returned to you.”

Eden Sessions

The Eden Project-hosted Eden Sessions in Cornwall was due to welcome performances from My Chemical Romance (June 16), Lionel Richie (June 17), Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds (June 23), The Script (July 15) and Diana Ross (July 21) this summer. But on April 17 the organisers confirmed that the coronavirus outbreak had left them with no option but to cancel their 2020 schedule.

The organisers of the Eden Sessions say that they are “working hard to reschedule [the] artists booked for 2020 to play next year”. “When shows are rescheduled and dates confirmed, the Eden Project will contact all existing ticketholders with details,” they added. “Original tickets will remain valid for any show that is rescheduled.”

Bluedot Festival

Bluedot Festival have postponed this summer’s event to 2021, but organisers have confirmed that its three scheduled 2020 headliners — Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy — will top the bill next year.

The next Bluedot Festival will take place between July 22-25, 2021. Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy will top the bill, while Bluedot say they are “working to transfer as many of 2020’s artists and speakers to Bluedot 2021 as possible”.

Tickets for this year’s festival will automatically be transferred to 2021, but any ticketholders who can’t attend the 2021 festival will be entitled to a full refund on their ticket and any extras, including boutique camping.

Reading & Leeds

Reading and Leeds Festival have announced that the event will not be taking place this year due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. “We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation, and we were hopeful we could deliver the ultimate festival to you in August, something to look forward to in these strange and confusing times,” said organisers Festival Republic in a statement. “However, it’s become clear that it’s just not possible for this year’s festival to go ahead.

Organisers went on to say that they were working closely with ticketing partners to process refunds, but fans would also have the opportunity to carry their ticket over to next year.”

Camp Bestival

Camp Bestival will not take place in 2020. The festival say: “Rest assured, we’ll be back at Lulworth Castle on 29th July – 1st August 2021, stronger than ever with plenty of new surprises in store and we hope to see you all there!”

End Of The Road Festival

End Of The Road Festival 2020 will not go ahead over continuing fears about the coronavirus outbreak. New dates have been announced for 2021, for which original 2020 tickets will be valid.

Nos Alive

NOS Alive festival has been officially postponed until next year due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Those with tickets for 2020’s edition will be contacted “soon” regarding their options, “all in line with the new law”.

EXIT Festival

The Serbian festival celebrates its 20th birthday this year and its original July dates have been rescheduled for August. Serbian prime minister Ana Brnabić recommended it be postponed rather than cancelled “because we expect the situation in the whole of August to be totally under control by then”.

Organisers said they will “probably” need to run the event at a reduced capacity to comply with social distancing measures.

Tallinn Music Week

Amidst the current concern surrounding public wellbeing we wanted to take a moment to address any concerns around this years Field Day and keep you up to date with recent developments. With nearly four months to go, plans are still very much in motion for this year’s Field Day to go ahead on July 11th. Whilst we have every hope things will have returned to normal by July, nobody can predict how events will unfold. As such we are working on a contingency plan for alternative dates to ensure the event can still take place later this year. Should it be deemed necessary to reschedule the festival, all tickets will remain valid. Those unable to attend the rescheduled date will be given the option of transferring your ticket to 2021 or obtaining a refund. The safety of our community is our priority and we will continue to monitor the latest advice from health authorities as we move closer to the event date. Work continues on what promises to be an unmissable – and much needed – party this summer and we’ll keep you updated as the situation develops. The London festival is due to take place on July 11 in Meridian Water, London, and, as of May 13, the event has still not been cancelled. In a statement posted to their website on March 20, organisers said: “With nearly four months to go, plans are still very much in motion for this year’s Field Day to go ahead on July 11th. All major airlines are offering flight changes and refund credits free of charge – if you booked your travel do not dismay. Most of the artists for DS12 have already reconfirmed for the rescheduled dates including Mercury Rev, Twink, Ringo Deathstarr and many more (check our website for updates) tickets will remain on sale for the new dates. Southern California’s Desert Stars festival has been postponed until September 25-26. Mercury Rev, Ringo Deathstarr and more are set to perform.

Lollapalooza Chile

Like Lollapalooza Argentina, the Chile leg of the festival has also been rescheduled to November 27-29. Guns N’ Roses, Travis Scott and The Strokes were due to headline.

OTHER EVENTS AND VENUE CLOSURES

World Tour Bushfire Relief Concert

The Melbourne benefit gig was pulled after headliner Miley Cyrus pulled out. “I am so disappointed to not be there, but I have to do what is right to protect the health and safety of my band and crew,” she told fans on Twitter, promising to make a donation to help the victims of the Australian bushfires. Lil Nas X and The Veronicas were amongst those also set to perform.

The New York benefit event was due to play host to former Hole bandmates Courtney Love and Melissa Auf der Maur’s live reunion on March 14. The fundraiser has now been cancelled, with organisers saying they had “already begun work on rescheduling the event”.

Berghain

The famous Berlin nightclub will shut its doors for over a month due to the ongoing spread of coronavirus. At present, it is scheduled to reopen on April 20.

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony

Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, the Notorious B.I.G., and T-Rex were all due to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on May 2. However, the organisation have confirmed the ceremony will now rescheduled for later in the year. The Cleveland museum will also be closed to the public until March 27.

Chase Center

San Francisco’s Chase Center will not hold any concerts through March 21. Any scheduled events, including Tame Impala and Post Malone, have been cancelled or postponed.

U Street Music Hall, 9:30 Club, the Anthem, Lincoln Theatre

After advice from DC Health, a number of venues in Washington D.C. have postponed their planned events until April.

All venues over 500 capacity in New York

Governor Cuomo has introduced a ban on gatherings over 500 people across New York state from March 13 onwards, affecting shows at the likes of Brooklyn Steel, Music Hall Of Williamsburg, Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, Terminal 5, and more.

Sofar Sounds

The intimate gig promoters have announced that all their forthcoming gigs are postponed. In a newsletter to fans, CEO Jim Lucchese said: “The safety of our artists, audiences, hosts and employees is our highest priority and first responsibility”.

Grand Ole Opry

Staff at the legendary Nashville venue have announced that no performances with a live audience will take place there until April 4 “in an effort to maintain health and safety amid current COVID-19 concerns.” The regular Saturday Night Grand Ole Opry Show “will return to its original format as a live radio broadcast without a live audience” that fans can tune into online.

WOMAD Festival 2020

In a statement, WOMAD said that following a meeting with the licensing authority and the combined emergency services and after taking on “government advice on halting the spread of Covid-19,” the festival could not go ahead.

“It is clear that in order to meet the festival’s goal of protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of the whole WOMAD community the festival is unable to proceed this year,” the statement read.

The festival’s founder, Peter Gabriel added: “Like many others, we have been hoping, waiting and watching the Coronavirus situation. Finally, we have been told that we will not be allowed to hold WOMAD this year at Charlton Park. Safety for all of our festival goers, artists and our own staff surpasses everything.”

All tickets will remain valid for 2021 or fans can seek a refund.

Boardmasters

This year’s Boardmasters festival has now been moved to August 11-15 2021. In a statement, organisers said they are “absolutely gutted” by the announcement but added “the safety of everyone involved in the festival as well as the local community in Cornwall comes first.”

Ticket holders can transfer their booking to 2021 or request a full refund.
