During CNN‘s New Year’s Eve Live with Andy Cohen & Anderson Cooper coverage, the two co-hosts invited DJ and producer onto the show as one of their many guests. During the show, which was live on air, Cohen asked Diplo where the “most conventional place” he had done LSD was.
Diplo then revealed that he was tripping on LSD at that very moment: “Right now. I did some on the helicopter, on the way here.” Laughing, he added: “I’m not even lying.”
Anderson Cooper immediately burst into laughter while Cohen seemed shocked, asking, “You’re tripping right now?”. Diplo replied: “Yeah, but it’s like a light trip.” He then shared that he was “microdosing,” but also could have “macrodosed” earlier the day.

During the interview, Diplo asked if that portion of their chat could be cut out before realising he was live on air. Instead, Cooper and Cohen disclaimed to their audience that they do not recommend the use of LSD.
Following Diplo’s interview, he performed a set at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles to kick off the new year.
