The hit Netflix show is due to air its final season this November. So far, it’s been confirmed that the season will be split into three volumes, with the runtimes for its first instalment having been revealed recently.
Now, the first action-packed trailer for the final season has dropped, showing the people of Hawkins, Indiana, trapped in their town by the military as they attempt to contain the horror that Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) unleashed at the end of season four.
In the trailer, released today (Thursday October 30), the characters are terrified as they face waves of Demogorgons and fiery rifts opening in the ground.
We see Mike (Finn Wolfhard) as he desperately searches for a way to fight Vecna while Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) harnesses her powers to fly through the air. Max (Sadie Sink) is rescued from the hospital by Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), who is then chased by a demodog.
Will (Noah Schnapp), also finds himself at the mercy of Vecna, who vows to make him help him “one last time.”

The show’s finale will debut in over 350 cinemas in the US and UK, with the screenings starting at 5pm PT on December 31 – the same time as it drops on Netflix in North America and the rest of the world.
In an official statement series creators Matt and Ross Duffer said: “We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of Stranger Things in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years.”
They continued: “Getting to see it on the big screen, with incredible sound, picture, and a room full of fans, feels like the perfect — dare we say bitchin’ — way to celebrate the end of this adventure.”
Recently, series star Finn Wolfhard admitted the cast were “pretty worried” about backlash for the final episodes having seen the divisive response to the last season of Game Of Thrones.
Matt Duffer also squashed any rumours that Joseph Quinn would be returning to the series as Eddie Munson, who died in the previous season.
