The Spanish singer released ‘Lux’ on November 7, 2025, and has now marked its first birthday with a new limited-edition box set and a lengthy post on Substack, titled ‘Dar A Lux’.
In the post, she reflected on the year since the album’s release, describing it as one of the most difficult but also most meaningful periods of her life.
“I wonder if I made this album equally for others and for myself,” she wrote. “I also wonder if I would ever make this record the way I did again, or if I would even embark on making a record like this again.
“When I was making this record, I was thinking about cathedrals. Trying to make a record that sounds like a cathedral, haha, I don’t know if I succeeded, but I suppose just having tried is enough.”
Rosalía also looked back on her extensive world tour in support of ‘Lux’, which saw her play 57 concerts across 17 countries and three continents, joking that she had survived the experience, aside from her curtailed show in Milan.
She went on to reflect on the importance of showing affection through small gestures, including sharing music with people she loves, explaining that this had inspired her anniversary gift to fans.
The resulting Spotify playlist, titled ‘1.000 TEMAS QUE TE DAN LUX’, features 1,000 songs she listened to over the years she spent conceiving, recording and performing the album.
The wide-ranging selection includes music from Patti Smith, The Cure, Queen, Kate Bush, Nina Simone and Caetano Veloso, among many others.
Meanwhile, the singer has also announced a limited-edition anniversary box set, featuring the complete album on etched vinyl, a previously unreleased gold edition of its artwork, a lyric booklet, a handkerchief and an embossed heart, presented in a blue linen box with gold lettering. The collection is available to pre-order for £125 here.
The album received a five-star review from NME, which hailed it as “an arresting album of astonishing scope and ambition”.
It added: “It’s a stunning end to an album that consistently leaves you with your jaw on your floor; a record that defies the playlist-driven, bite-sized, background-listening way in which we often consume music these days.”
Rosalía subsequently brought the record to the stage on her extensive 2026 world tour, with her London performance also receiving a five-star review from NME, which described the show as “a true masterpiece”.
She is now preparing to perform at the Latin Grammy Awards on Thursday (November 12), where she has received seven nominations, including Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year.
Meanwhile, U2 will pay tribute to Rosalía on their forthcoming album ‘Carnaval De Luz’, which is released on November 13.
The record includes a track titled ‘The Mirror Maker (Rosalía)’, which Bono has described as a celebration of the Spanish singer’s artistry.
Rosalía subsequently revealed that Bono had contacted her for help with some Spanish lyrics, although the pair have still never met in person.
