Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, has sparked a polarising debate online with viewers either loving or loathing it.

Released on Tuesday (March 4), the official synopsis for the show reads: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old”.

It continues: “Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.

The Duchess Of Sussex has been a divisive figure since marrying Prince Harry in 2018, then stepping down from royal duties in 2020 and moving to America. The strong feeling has been reflected on X (formerly Twitter), with some viewers dismissing the new show.

“This Meghan Markle Netflix show is the most unrelatable thing I’ve ever seen in my life… I’m praying it gets spoofed on @nbcsnl” said one, with another admitting: “not to sound like a karen…. but watching meghan markle’s netflix show and can confirm she is insufferable”.

 

One person implied her show displayed some hypocrisy, posting: “Gonna respect Meghan Markle’s constant moaning for wanting privacy and not watch her Netflix show. The ‘look at how nice and relatable I am by baking a fucking cake’ look is cringe at best”.

 

Another agreed: “Markles new Netflix show made me nauseous in the first five minutes. Her whispering about honey and her ‘guest room’ in a rented house playing with bath salts she was making for her paid makeup artist who she has the kids call ‘their uncle’ is so cringy”.

On the other side of the spectrum, supporters of the show celebrated its escapist qualities. “Meghan Markle show is such a treat, it’s those show you watch for comfort, with your wine glass and dream” said one, while another agreed: “Homegirl made some bath salts and a cake. I loved to see it, it brought me a lot of joy”.

“I forgot how much i loved this woman” said one viewer, with others saying criticism of the show is based on personal dislike. “Meghan could cure cancer and they’d still find a reason to hate her, it’s pathetic” a fan tweeted.

All eight episodes of With Love, Meghan are now on Netflix. Recently, Markle thanked Billie Eilish for sending merchandise to fan who lost concert T-shirt in LA wildfires.
