For his final show of the year, Billy Joel performed at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on New Year’s Eve (December 31). To mark the special occasion, Joel was joined onstage by Jason Bonham – the son of legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham – to perform ‘Whole Lotta Love’.
The performance came mid-way through Billy Joel’s set. Jason Bonham’s band – Jason Bonham’s Led Zepellin Evening had performed earlier in the night to open the show.
“We’re going to bring a guest onstage and do this next song,” Joel said to the audience. “We have fun playing this, especially with this guy. Please welcome Jason Bonham. You all know this song. It’s not a piano song.”

Elsewhere during the show, Joel treated fans to his classic hits, including ‘Scenes From An Italian Restaurant’, ‘Piano Man’, ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’, ‘Uptown Girl’ and more. He also performed a cover of Rolling Stones‘ ‘Start Me Up’, and at midnight – after sharing a kiss with his wife onstage – ushered in the new year with ‘Auld Lang Syne’.
