My Chemical Romance have kicked off their ‘Long Live The Black Parade’ tour with a show in Seattle – watch footage below.

Last night saw the tour, in celebration of their seminal 2006 album by the same name, kick off at the T-Mobile Park in Seattle. Having made headlines when tickets completely sold out within hours of going on sale, fans were quick to take to social media to share clips of the gig with those who didn’t get to see it live.
Aside from the slew of hits played – including ‘Cancer’, ‘Helena’, ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ and more – one big talking point from the night was a mock “election”. Per attending fans on Reddit, black and white mugshot-style photos with crossed-out faces were shown on screen at the venue, in a similar style to “‘exterminate’ posters from the Danger Days era”.
The crowd were then invited to vote on the fate of four candidates with “YAY” or “NAY” signs. “If your prediction for the my chemical romance b-stage was ‘Gerard Way hosting a democratic election to execute 4 people by firing squad in real time,’” joked one fan. “You were right on the money!”
Did they just play the game of democracy and EXECUTE FOUR PEOPLE??? #mcrseattle pic.twitter.com/Ggw1S5HqrN

Another big moment came when the band appeared to be kidnapped by a clown, who was blown up later on in the evening, much to the delight of fans. “Imagine trying to explain to a casual mcr fan that at their concert they literally executed four people live and then ended the black parade with a clown blowing up”, wrote one, with another adding: “Hey so wtf tonight was wild…”
You can check out more fan reactions below.
how am i going to explain “yea there was just a suicide bomber on stage dressed as a clown” and “all of the band members got kidnapped” and “four people got publicly executed onstage” to my friends when i try and tell them about the mcr concert

Ahead of the show, fans became convinced the emo legends – who recently announced a slew of 2026 dates in Asia and a massive concert in Mexico that same year – were teasing new music.
On Instagram, the band uploaded a strange image of a shining object with three circular lights blazing from its top. There’s a timestamp, too, reading ’07:11:25:00′ – the Seattle date of the tour. Then, the caption below reads: “A dagger, a dagger – please fetch me a dagger”.
It now appears that the dagger references were to the newly updated lyrics to ‘Mama’.
