Xbox Game Pass announces more titles for August 2025

Microsoft has confirmed the next wave of titles coming to Xbox Game Pass this month.

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives both Xbox and PC players access to a massive library of games. To keep things fresh, new titles are constantly being added while other games are removed in fortnightly chunks. 

Last month, Microsoft added fourteen titles to the service including Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Grounded 2, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 and Rise Of The Tomb Raider.

An initial wave of games was confirmed to be joining Game Pass this August at the end of last month but now Microsoft has announced the next wave of titles that will be joining the service in the coming weeks. Among the new additions is 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

“Become the most versatile and resourceful Assassin in franchise history. Parkour seamlessly through the city and leverage the largest assortment of tools to date. Get contracts and upgrades at the Assassin’s bureaus, collect vital clues, and stealthily take down targets with more visceral assassinations than ever before,” reads the game’s description.

All the games confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2025:

  • Farming Simulator 25 – out now for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Rain World – out now for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector – August 6 for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders – August 6 for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • MechWarrior 5: Clan – August 6 for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap – August 6 for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage – August 7 for Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite – August 7 for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Madden NFL 26 (10 hour trial) – August 11 for for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers via EA Play
  • 9 Kings (Game Preview) – August 9 for Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition: – August 12 for Standard, Ultimate and PC subscribers
  • Gears Of War: Reloaded – August 26 for Ultimate and PC subscribers

Microsoft has also announced a trio of games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass on August 15. They are:

  • Anthem
  • Farming Simulator 22
  • Persona 3 Reload 

Later this month, Xbox will be appearing at Gamescom 2025, which takes place August 20 – 24 in Cologne, Germany. The Xbox booth will have playable demos of 20 different titles including Borderlands 4, Hollow Knight: Silksong and EA Sports FC 26 alongside a first-hand look at the new handheld Xbox ROG Ally. “For those who can’t attend, check out the official Xbox @ gamescom Broadcast: Live From the Showfloor on August 20 & 21.”

Earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed 19 Day One releases would be joining the Xbox Game Pass service throughout 2025 and beyond. Frostpunk 2 will be available for subscribers in September, The Outer Worlds 2 will launch in October and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 will come at some point in 2025.

In other news, legendary game studio Rare is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a bumper vinyl soundtrack collection.
