The singer – real name Dominic Harrison – was greeting fans on a recent trip to Amsterdam when a teary follower said to the singer, “You saved my life”.

“No you saved your own life, I didn’t save your life,” Harrison said. “Maybe the music was the soundtrack, but you saved your own life OK? I love ya. Don’t be sad, be happy.” He then gave her a hug.

Footage later showed Yungblud appearing to preview snippets of his forthcoming album to fans.

When asked what people can expect from the new record, he replied: “An adventure. The whole new album it’s not predictable. It’s got a million twists and turns. It’s a body of work you know what I mean? It’s wild.”

It comes just days after Yungblud showcased three new songs at a surprise show at the Scala in London – ‘Lovesick Lullaby’, ‘Zombie’ and his recent single ‘Hello Heaven, Hello‘.

Currently, little is known about his upcoming album, although Yungblud has been dropping numerous hints in recent months. Last December, he told NME that it is likely going to be a double album, and he also discussed how proud he is of the record and got fans talking by making a return to social media.

More recently, Harrison spoke to Apple Music and shared more details about what went into making the record.

“I’ve been listening to a lot of, old-old school music, going back to people like Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt and Led Zeppelin and kind of even Elton John,” he said. “Rock is my genre. I feel like I’ve been dabbling in many different things and trying to twist rock, but I feel like at the minute it’s exciting because rock music feels spherical… it needed to sound big, it needed to sound cinematic.”

The comments about taking inspiration from Led Zeppelin echo comments those he made last March, when he spoke to NME and named Oasis, The Verve, Primal Scream, My Chemical Romance, David Bowie and Madonna as inspirations.

Harrison noted that the mantra of the record would be: “Come together, look each other in the eye, be human”, as opposed to saying: “Fuck you, this is the world we’ve got to get to.”

Touching on the idea of a concept album, he went on: “It’s a ’Tommy’, it’s a ‘Quadrophenia’ [The Who]. It’s ‘A Night At The Opera’ [Queen]. It’s a ‘Black Parade’ [My Chemical Romance]. It’s an ‘Urban Hymns’. It’s a thing that’s intended to be listened to from start to finish, and it’s pushed me harder and made me gut myself harder than anything before.”

In other Yungblud news, this summer, the Doncaster singer is set to perform at the second instalment of his own festival, Bludfest, which will also see appearances from Chase Atlantic, Denzel Curry, Blackbear and former NME Cover stars Rachel Chinouriri and Peach PRC. Visit here for tickets.
