The Doncaster singer-songwriter (real name Adam Taylor) is due to release the 12-track ‘From Good To Bad And Then Back Again’ on Friday May 15 via BMG, following on from his 2024 EP ‘Without You’. Pre-order/pre-save here.

“This album is me trying to understand what it is to be human,” ADMT explained of his raw first record – which tackles important subjects such as poverty, housing issues, youth education and mental health.

“Some love, some loss, some happiness and a lot of time spent learning about myself and the journey it takes to become who I want to be,” the artist added, detailing the journey to creating his debut.

“It’s growth, making mistakes, feeling everything a bit too much and not always knowing where to put it.”

He continued: “Every low and every setback, every moment I felt off track all led me back to myself in the end. I think a lot of the time we go from good to bad and then back again, and that’s what it is to be alive.”

The heartfelt single ‘Turn The Page’ finds ADMT ruminating on a past relationship as he explores the themes of love and regret, and the difficulties of someone moving on in life without you.

We were young and it was love/ Nobody can take it from us,” he sings in the poignant, acoustic guitar-driven anthem. “I’ll be the first to admit that/ It was my fault for giving up/ I thought that I wasn’t enough/ I didn’t realise what we had.” Listen above.

The upcoming LP will also feature the previously released songs ‘Homeless’ and ‘Cover To Cover’.

The tracklist for ADMT’s ‘From Good To Bad And Then Back Again’ is:

1. ‘Burn Brighter’
2. ‘Homeless’
3. ‘Turn The Page’
4. ‘The Door’
5. ‘Fools Gold’

Back in 2024, ADMT told NME that he was “looking forward to starting to write my first album”, and teased what fans could expect from the project.

“I’m writing pretty much every day because I need it,” he said at the time. “I’ve not really thought about it until now, so I’m quite nervous. I’ve got ADHD so I’m quite flat-out mentally all the time, and never really pause to think where I am along the journey.

“It’s got to be my story. I’ve got songs already written that I’d ideally like on it, but I also just feel like I’ve got to write with some friends and bare all. There’s love, there’s loss, there’s pain. I’m not sure if I should write another mental health song, but I could do a whole album on that!”

When asked about his dream for the record, and where he hoped it would take him, ADMT responded: “This sounds like arrogance, but I have to do this. I have to tell myself it’s going to be somewhere ace!

“You can’t admit to yourself that things might not work out, so I always have to say, ‘This is going to be everywhere – we’re going to explode into the world’.”

During an interview with NME in January, Tomlinson looked ahead to his current headline tour. “I’m lucky enough to have a certain base level in terms of the atmosphere and the energy from the crowd,” he said.

“It’s the kind of thing that I can rely on at every single gig, and the more I get from the crowd, the more I can give back. I’m really excited to show off the record [in a live setting].

“It feels really special this time [because] my first two tours were similar to each other in terms of aesthetic, but this is gonna have a slightly different feel. It will be a more colourful, slightly more electronic sonically, and I’m interested to see how it plays out.”

He concluded: “It’s my favourite thing to do, I don’t think I’d do the job if I couldn’t tour.”
